Massachusetts Building Trades Council Endorses John Kerry for Re-election

We are pleased to receive this endorsement today from the Massachusetts Building Trades Council.

BOSTON – Senator John Kerry’s re-election campaign today announced that Senator Kerry has received the endorsement of the Massachusetts Building Trades Council (MBTC) , one of the most effective labor organizations in the state.

“Senator Kerry shares our core principles that improving wages, hours and working conditions for workers is the best way to improve the quality of life for individual working families and the community as a whole,” said Frank Callahan, President of the Massachusetts Building Trades Council.

“Working families are the backbone of our state’s economy and throughout my service in the Senate I have fought to make their voices are heard in Washington. From working to end to tax breaks that send American jobs overseas, fighting to increase the minimum wage, expanding children’s healthcare, working for affordable education and fighting Republican efforts to erode the right to organize, these fights are who I am and they define the heart and soul of America’s labor movement,” said Senator Kerry. “I am proud to have earned the endorsement from the MBTC and will continue to get up every day and fight with their best interests at heart.”

Throughout his career, Kerry has fought to put our economy back on track and to create new and better jobs across Massachusetts. Most recently he and Callahan worked together at a hearing about the nation’s underground economy and how it can cost taxpayers billions, trample on workers’ rights and punish companies that play by the rules.

The Massachusetts Building Trades Council is an 88-year-old organization dedicated to helping working people improve their quality of life. It is represents more than 75,000 working men and women across the state.
